Iro is a young dance artist from Greece. She grarduated in 2014 at London Contemporary Dance School where she came across with various techniques like Cunningham, Release, Floorwork, Ballet, Alexander technique, Contact Improvisation, Improvisation into Performance, Stage design, choreology etc, and she met many important dance practitioners like Sasha Roubicek, Batiste  Bourgougnon, Bruno Roubicek, Jorge Grecis, Jose Agudo, Delphine Gaborit, James MacGillivray, Raymond Chai, Jovair Longo, Rick Nodine, Chisato Ohno, Richard Aliston.

 

During that period Iro performed in various places in her own work as well as in pieces directed by other artists:

Iro lives in Malaga at the moment working as a contemporary dance and improvisation teacher as well as s free lancer, forming part of different artistic platforms like La Caverna, Villa Puchero Factory and La Casa Invisible.

 

In the end, Iro is deeply interested in physical theatre, interactive performance and the political substance of the artistic work. Site specific work is one of her interests too, with previous experience (Trafalgar Square, Anonymous demonstration/London, interventions "Saudade", "Vitrine", Malaga)

Lula Amira was born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1985. In 2004 she moved to Malaga and two years later she began her dance training, working with many local dancers and choreographers: Thomé Araujo, Vanessa López, Rebeca Carrera y Ximena Carnevale. At the same time, Lula is training in african dance with the guidance of Vanessa Gutierrez.

 

During that period Lula had participated in many different workshops of international dance artists like Jordi Cortés, Fernando Hurtado, Daniel Abreu, Michelle Man, James Hewsion, Chevi Muraday, Lipi Hernández, Luz Arcas, Cesc Gelabert, María Muñóz y Pep Ramis, Guillermo Weickert, María Cabeza de Vaca, Elías Aguirre etc.

 

She has also attended workshops of other disciplines like anatomy of the movement with Manuela Nogales and Leo Fabre, Ballet with Libby Farr, Butoh with Saeed Pezeshki and experiemnetal theatre with CIA Bajotierra Teatro.

 

In the end Lula is an experienced self trained dancer and teacher of Candombe, a popular Afro-Uruguayan dance, which she has been exploring from a folkloric and experimental prospective.

In addition, she has collaborated as a dancer and a choreographer with the batucadas group Bombo Combo, with Borom Tamba African Dance and with Ritmsoa (Musical, dance-theatre)

 

In 2013 Lula enters Ximena Carnevale dace company  performing in “Crudo”, wich won “Málaga Crea” reward in 2014

 

At the same time she started working with the visual artist and director of villapuchero factory performance platform, Pedro Okña in various projects like “Conejo Blanco”, part of “The Lonely People” Laboratory and “Las palabras azules”.

 

Since 2008 he teaches Candombe and Contemporary Dance at La Casa Invisible.

At the moment she is developing her project “Reappropriation of the body through dance and theater” with women as part of Equality activities of Malaga council.
